computer doesnt post normally after installing new cpu

im using an m2n32 sli deluxe and i recently installed a phenom ii x2 550 into the computer now ever since i did that on initial boot attempt the computer doesnt post but the fans come on, then if i leave it like that for 5-10 minutes with the fans running but no post then i can restart it and it will start up as normal, is there any way i can stop this from happening,? is it possible this is happening from not installing the cpu correctly? pls help

I would just clear the cmos first to see if that helps
