Discussion Computer Fault

I have the following system:
i9 7900X
Asrock X299 Taichi XE
Silverstone Strider 1500W

Had a power a couple of days ago and after power cut computer tool multiple attempts to get it to boot as was not even getting to post. Fast forward to today the PC wouldnt boot and after trying multiple times it now boots however the systems fans are not starting up. The computer was connected to surge protector.

Im starting to wonder if its a PSU issue or a motherboard issue, any advice on how to progress.

Just tried another power supply, fans still not working

I've done some more troubleshooting and found out its the PSU. I guess my surge protector failed and the power supply sacrificed itself to stop whole system being affected.
