Computer freezes right after startup

Hello,
For the past few weeks my pc (windows 7 ultimate) boots up and then between 1 and 4 minutes freezes or reboots itself. This may happen again but then it works fine the rest of the day. I have just reinstalled the OS but the problem persists. Any ideas for us?

the cpu gets hot and autoshuts down, maybe not enough power coming from cpu on start up, happens to me on waking from hibernate. and since u did the OS its prob hardware.

my laptop did that , hard drive going bad , lots of bad sectors , ran a chk disc and lost tons of info but it ran for a while , then started heating up 4 minute boots . Check the hard drive , it's a possibility . And the hard drive got very hot too 55c+
