Hello. I recently installed a 8gb stick of Ram into my pc adding to the 4gb stick i already had. Immediately after i booted my computer it froze on the desktop. Sometimes it can go hours, days, or even just minutes until it freezes. Here's what i have tried:

Using only the 4gb stick, using only the 8gb stick
Memtest to run through 6 times
Changing the timings

Here are my pc's specs
Mobo:Asus P8Z77-V LX
CPU:i3-3220
Gpu:EVGA 650 Ti sc
psu: corsair cx 500
Ram: 4gb- kingston hyperx blue 1600mhz ddr3
8gb-Pny ddr3 1600mhz

Thank you for any help.

This is what can happen when mixing DRAM, there's never a guarantee mixed DRAM will play together. Always best to get a full package of the amount of DRAM you want/need. If you can give us the model #s of the DRAM, we can try some voltage and/or timing adjustments to get them to play - no guarantees, but have had a lot of success in the past

Ok that makes sense the model #'s are as follows:
8GBH2X04E99927-15-H
KHX1600C9D3B1/4G

I did as you suggested and my computer continued to freeze immediately after boot, unless there are any other fixes you can think of would it be a good idea to just get new ram?
