Computer Freezing Help!

I downloaded gta V and my gtx 960 runs it beautifully until my computer freezes and all of my peripherals stop working not really sure why either the lights on my mouse turn off but the lights stay on for my keyboard and xbox one controller that i have plugged in this also happens when i play 2k15 but not for my other games

intel 980x processor 3.33ghz 6 core
evga 2gb nvidia gtx 960
6gb ram
corsair 750w power supply

it happens at random times when playing either 2k or gta usually after 15-30 minutes of gameplay

hmmm... do a memtest.

did a memtest with no errors...is this possibly a hard drive issue my game is installed on a new 1tb but windows is on an old 120gb that makes noises

You will need to access the S.M.A.R.T. data for both hard drives, if any of them are in trouble, then that will tell you that there's a problem!
