So me and my brother have been building our first computer. We managed to get as far as installing windows 8, however the computer froze a few minutes after inserting the motherboard driver CD (The CD ran fine up until then).

We had to completely power off the computer, and when we turned it back on, the computer would restart every few seconds, with no input on the monitor. (not even post)

We realized the driver CD was still in the tray and so we removed it. When powering on the computer, everything would turn on but nothing happened. (again, no post). We checked the monitor by plugging it into an xbox and it worked fine.

We tried resetting the RTC RAM on the motherboard to try and bring it back to factory settings, but the situation still hasn't changed.

Anyone have any advice? Thanks, sorry for the long thread.
