When I start up an online game like League of Legends or Escape From Tarkov, my computer gets disconnected from the internet. It does not happen every time, but it is becoming an increasingly frequent issue now. During this time, I can use internet on my other devices just fine, only this computer loses connection. Have to restart router to get connection back. Only happened with online games so far.

Computer has wired connection to router.

Since this issue started, I have disabled NetBIOS, switched speed and duplex value to 100 mbps full duplex from Auto Negotiation and back again. I tried doing ipconfig /all when it happened and it showed media disconnected. Flushdns and renew did not help either. In Event Viewer there are warnings to Event 1014, where none of the configured DNS servers respond.

I've looked up on this issue over the last couple days, and there have been a few similar problems, but none of those solutions worked for me. I'm hoping someone here will be able to help me figure out what the exact problem is and how to fix it.

Check you router's configuration accordingly. Just as a matter of determining the current settings.

Then, now that you have specific warning to watch for, just watch.

If you can correlate the warnings with the disconnect then that is progress.

What I am not sure about is how or why only your computer is being impacted.

However, if the problem occurs only while gaming - someone may be trying to cheat. Or it could just be random attacks targeting your IP.

Make and model router?

The router's logs, if available and enabled, may be capturing some error code or problem.

Who has full admin rights to the router? You will need help from that person.

Router - TP link Archer C60

Thank you for the response. I have full admin rights to the router.

Do you mean the system logs under system tools in router's settings? It only shows the last 44 logs. I will post these logs here when I get the errors again.

Configure/reconfigure as necessary to increase protection. Change only one thing at a time and keep notes in case something goes astray and you have to roll back the change.

This is the right router model.

It did happen again after I posted last time, and the same warning about DoS protection in logs.

However, if the problem occurs only while gaming - someone may be trying to cheat. Or it could just be random attacks targeting your IP.

I did consider the possibility of anti-cheat softwares having to do something with it, but I wouldn't have them disabled. And if it was actually anti-cheats, I'd have gotten some kind of warning in game by now.

I've changed some of the security settings in router, thank you for the link to the guide. Now to see how often it gets triggered.
