Computer goes to sleep when it's not suppose to

Title is exactly what is happening. So I have looked around online and found a few solutions and have tried them all, some work for a little bit of time but then stopped after awhile. Basically what happens is my computer will go to sleep even though I have it set to Never on all the options under "When to sleep" etc. This is not big of a deal since most of the time when it goes to sleep I am not using it. But say when I am downloading something big I want to do it over a certain period of time, the computer will stop the download due to it going to sleep. The only time it does not go to sleep is when I am downloading games through steam, any suggestions on how to fix?

control panel > power settings (or sth like that) -- let's you set whether the computer can enter sleep mode all along.
since in my old rig my GPU wouldn't wake up from sleep mode I disabled it, never had the problem again

Like I stated previously: I have already done that, but it still goes to sleep.

Look.for power options in the control suite that comes with your motherboard. there can potentially be an option like that.
also enter BIOS and see if your BIOS has an option for that.
