I recently upgraded my GPU, and since then my computer has been very hot around the motherboard when playing games. The fans also make loud, unsettling sounds in short bursts. (10-20 seconds)

I downloaded GPU Temp and realized that my card was fairly cool, never really surpassed 60c while gaming.

Today I decided to open the side panel and start the computer to get a better look at the air flow and see what exactly is heating up so much.

Seems like the motherboard is the hottest as far as I'm aware. The GPU and PSU are in the coolest area of the computer. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Current Specs:

Case - MicroATX Guardian

I'm not worried about the motherboard, it's the CPU that I find bottlenecks the GPU and has a tough time keeping up. Recently has been surpassing 80c when playing something like WoW which isn't very intensive at all. I'm also noticing that I'm maxing out at about 60-90 fps in any game regardless of the settings.

I'm going to try to clean out the heatsink and cpu cooler, do some more stress testing. Then buy a new cpu cooler and possibly heatsink if I don't get anywhere with that. Worst case scenario I buy a new CPU which means a new motherboard aswell.

With my GPU I should be getting higher fps playing WoW on low fps. The CPU is certainly holding me back, regardless if you can see a difference past 60 fps, I don't like it lol.

Also, I can't play something like WoW, or a similar intensity game for more than an hour on low settings without the CPUs temperature surpassing 80c.

This didn't happen untill the new card was put in, and it's running fine, very impressed with it's performance and cooling.

Also also, this post is fairly outdated according to what I now know. The motherboard isn't an issue, sorry for the confusion.
