Hey everyone; I need some advice, I built my girlfriend a new computer from old parts that I had left over, and some new I got her from her birthday. I tested the mobo/cpu before mounting to the case and everything was working perfectly fine. After mounting the mobo in the case and doing cable management, the moment of truth came and the computer immediately shut down after power. I have ran through the check list twice, but am still unable to get the computer to boot. I am now in the process of clearing the CMOS (again) for a longer time to see if that might be the causation, but until then I want to see if I may have missed something.
The build:
Asus Z97-PRO [NEW]
Intel 4770K [Bought about a year ago for myself, but never used it, still new]
Corsair H80i GT Cooler [NEW]
Corsair RM850W [USED from my previous computer, with little to no wear/tear]
Corsair Vengeance 8GB [2x4GB] 1600MHz RAM [NEW]
EVGA Nvidia GTX970 SC [USED]
Samsung SSD 850 EVO [NEW]
I have tested everything before connecting it to the board, and was always conscientious of ESD, taking all the precautions to prevent it, grounding with a wrist band, discharging all tools, etc. So I don't think a faulty component is an issue. The motherboard is currently out of the case, sitting on cardboard, with just one stick of ram, power connected, and cooler connected and I'm still getting an immediate shutdown. Any advice past this point would be great, I'd really like to get this PC to my girlfriend before the end of today (her birthday)
Thanks!
