Computer is suddenly incredibly slow.

Yesterday my computer was fine, today it takes ~1 hour to boot to the login screen. After that it takes about 7-8 minutes to log in. After I'm logged in, any action I take (opening Control Panel for example) takes about 10 minutes. I've looked for many solutions and haven't found anything that works. I'm running an Acer Aspire 8943G.

I'll try to get some numbers for you but my laptop isn't even warm to the touch. Nothing strenuous for the last couple days.

Could you try booting a linux distro from USB drive? If it's not as slow then it could be the HDD

I had a few .NET updates yesterday that slowed me down pretty rough... Till i disabled .Net. dunno if that has any relevance to you at all.
