Computer is turned on but monitor says no signal

I just upgraded my CPU and my RAM, and then when I went to turn on my monitor it says 'no signal'. The monitor I have is a ViewSonic XG2401. I have tried everything from cleaning my RAM to rebuilding my PC entirely, but nothing seems to work.

So your motherboard doesn't post?

put the old cpu/ram back and test it again

common silly user errors: not plugging the monitor to the gpu. not setting it to the correct input.

now we got that out of the way, did you check each ram stick? one or more could be DOA.

Also, how much thermal paste did you use? did any get applied to the pins on accident?
