Question Computer keeps freezing when playing games

So I really don't know what to do with this situation. I have never had to deal with this before, but when I am playing games my computer would just freeze. Just the other day it randomly froze when I was downloading a Steam game. I ran a RAM Diagnostic that is build into win 10, but donno if I should trust it or not. It ran the diagnostic tool, but when it restarted it never showed me the results.
When I Google "Why does my computer freeze...." it tells me the CPU, GPU, or RAM could be the problem. I don't know how to test the CPU or the GPU. Send Help

I ended up doing a full C Drive wipe and reinstalled windows. That fixed everything.
