I've put this thread up here as I've heard that the people on this site are very helpful and I could really use some help for my pc which keeps crashing (updated as I am a complete fool and appear to not know how to use a thread) but my computer keeps freezing randomly during the day this had happened four to five times during the course of one day even when I was just using the internet browser and Skype it still froze and the only way I was capable of using my computer again was restarting the computer by the tower button because the mouse and keyboard stop responding and no sound comes out of my headset when it freezes

Check in Windows event viewer for any warnings or error messages.

Windows key + R
Type: eventvwr (enter)
Click on Windows logs > System

Use "Filter current log..." found on the right side
Check the boxes: "Critical, Warning & Error" >OK

This will show you all the recent warnings & errors on your system. You should check down this list to see if it refers to a particular piece of hardware, or component giving errors. Specifically check around the time of the last crash, to see what maybe caused it. Then you can work on fixing that.
