My Motherboard, an Asus M3A78-CM, would not allow me to install new OS. My PC has AMD 64,and fully compatible 8gb of PC2-6400 DDR2 240 pin Ram. It would get to the windows logo, stay therefor about 5 mins, and then automatically reboots. What do I have to do to [strike]my motherboard to[/strike] stop this from happening?

I was trying to install windows 10 X64. According to the Motherboard Manual for Asus M3A78-CM, it is 64 bit compatible. I had the indtaller from burning it into a DVD through the Windows Media Creation. I mean I get to the Windows 10 logo, but my motherboard keeps restarting right after 5 mins the logo pops up.

personally found the media creator from Microsoft being flaky, launch it gain from windows web site and download the ISO instead.
then download RUFUS and burn the iso to the usb drive and boot from that, then retry the install

Windows 10 ISO:https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10#d2784474-fdb0-4e9d-9e47-5e88c0e053ec

choices to take:

then Save the Windows.iso on your desktop for example.

RUFUS can be had here: https://rufus.ie/en_IE.html
install it, run it, make sure a usb is plugged in. and select the ISO you downloaded LEAVE settings as is on rufus and make USB.

reboot that computer with USB drive.

Umm...Except that's exactly what I did. I burned the ISO file that I got from this Media Creation Tool, and it still would reboot automatically after Windows 10 logo was being on the screen for 5 minutes! As I have asked before, what can I do to my motherboard to avoid this from happening?
