Computer lagging badly!

I switched on my computer after 2 months ,it was lagging badly.I reinstalled windows cuz i thought it will make it work better but after 1 day after reinstall it again started lagging . I then dust off the RAM,CPU Fan , GPU,PSU but still it was lagging badly , I couldn't even do anything on the computer , then i finally tried to reinstall windows again but it still LAGs ,when i open 2 or more processes it just freezes or lags heavily or when i open programs that use high memory or PLAY GAMES . Im currently running Windows 7 with 12 GB RAM , 1 GB DDR5 NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 730 GPU. What should I do to FIX this lag problem . PLEASE HELP

12 gb ram? hmm try to use 2 modules of the same type if you are using 3 modules of 4gb ram and check your hard drive with a program.

Use memdisk to check RAM and you can try run CrystalMark on the hdd to see how it performs. That is the likely culprit (hdd).

That didnt worked , is there any other method so that i can stop my computer from lagging and I forgot to mention above that my pc takes too much time for booting and if i run high graphic games my windows crashes and those games which crashes windows works perfectly before

If your boot time takes too long maybe you have too many programs that require to load at startup (you can reduce the startup list) or your hdd is really slow (I had a pc from 2006 and it was slow during boot (~4 minutes) but then worked fine (of course write speeds were very slow (i figured this by looking in task manager)).

As you said programs load on startup so i opened "msconfig" in the startup menu i can see only 3 programs which load on startup.

I would recommend doing a Hardrive scan to check if that is fine, then check if all your ram sticks are okay , by leavig one in and then swaping them to see if each one works , if not you could also have out of date drivers or you dont have some windows updates installed so try doing some diagnostics.

Then most likely your hdd is the problem but the ram could also be the culprit. Try booting with just one stick of RAM, then two (try each stick once first to see if one is creating the problems).
