So I got a new monitor yesterday and after hooking it up and installing the cd and everything it all looks a little grainy the icons on task bar look low res. Not to mention high quality photos I viewed before on my old monitor looked alot better and clearer then they do now on my new monitor and everything seems a little washed out and it looks really bad when I play games. So I was wondering if it might have something to do which some kind of color display on the monitor or gpu also all my Nivida drivers are up to date and my res is set to the monitors reccomended which is 1920 x 1080. At first glance it looks fine but then examining it just dosen't look right and not as good as it did before on my other monitor. Monitor: ASUS MG248 HDMI 1080p 60Hz GPU: NIVIDA GeForce GTX 750 Ti

Solution
First check that the connecting cables are all firm and snug.

Try the monitor on another system if possible. See if the graininess follows the monitor.

Then look at the new monitor's onscreen menus and see what adjustments can be made there. Refer to the User Guide/Manual to properly change and save settings.

Could be just some color, contrast, balance adjustment is necessary.

Likewise right click an empty area of your desktop and access the GeForce GTX 750 Ti configuration screens via the Nvidia Control Panel.

See what you can adjust. Do only one thing at a time and keep notes.

If nothing works to sharpen the images you may need to return the monitor.
