I just got everything upgraded to a z170 asrock i7 professional with a i7 6700k processor and 32gig of ddr4 3000 ram. While i was installing win 10 I noticed a humming/buzzing sound and it got more pronounced when I got to the desktop. I noticed it was making the sounds mostly when I was moving mouse around and I was hearing a louder buzzing/humming when I did windows update (like I could hear the data transferring). I had to go to bed to go to work today and won't be able check wires or anything for the next 10 hours and was hoping someone can give me some tips on what to look for or do. Thanks in advancr and sorry for the text wall.

Where did the sound come from? Need more details. SSD? HDD? could it be the fans or whatever, hold you're ears near the sound and locate the location so we know more.

I'm using the same case, psu and graphics card. The gpu had a very slight coil whine previously. It would pop up randomly and go away, nothing to bad. I'm thinking it could be that card with the switch over to the new mobo platform. I got a old radeon card
I can try to use to see if that silences the problem. Got a new corsair aio cooler and had to use some molex extensions. It did sound like the buzz was coming from the rear of the case. Will have to check later. Is there anything physically on the mobo that can cause the problem?

Ok. So i just started up the computer. Sound seemed like it was coming from the rear ports. So I took out the graphics card and used the dvi port on the the mobo sound was still going coming from between the cpu and the back ports. So I guess I may have to rma it?

Iff everything still works how it should be, i don't think it's a RMA case. You could try
