I currently am running the build created by Austin Evans in 2014 called the photon.

CPU: AMD Athlon X4 760K
MoBo: MSI A78M-E35 Micro ATX FM2+
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600
IHD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
GPU: Sapphire Radeon R7 260X 2GB Video Card
PSU: Corsair CX 430W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

I would like to upgrade to a new system, and was wondering how much improvement my new system might give me before I buy into it.

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6
CPU cooler: CRYORIG C7 40.5 CFM
MoBo: MSI 760GMA-P34(FX) Micro ATX AM3+
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600
IHD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
GPU: Asus Radeon R9 380X 4GB Video Card
PSU: EVGA 500W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply

Any help is appreciated, and thanks!

Why do you want a whole new system rather than just replacing parts?

Your RAM, HDD, case, and PSU can probably stay.

I wouldn't go for an FX chip currently; Intel's options are cheaper and better, and you need a new motherboard anyway. An FX is also going to chew enough power that you'd probably need a new PSU.
