CPU: AMD Ryzen 5700x
CPU cooler: Lian Li Galahad 240mm AIO
Motherboard: ASUS TUF b550 plus (wifi)
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 32gb 3600mhz
SSD/HDD: Samsung 980 PRO 1tb
GPU: Zotac RTX 3070
PSU: Corsair 750w Platinum SFX less than 2 years old
Chassis: Lian Li O11d Mini
OS: Windows 11
Monitor: MSI 120hz Monitor 1920x1080

My main issue is that the computer will get to the bios after I have reset the CMOS (also will not boot to Windows even if I change zero BIOS settings) but any other time the white VGA light will come on.

I'm guessing it's a driver issue or something because yesterday I had the computer working just fine in the exact same configuration even though before that I was having issues. The computer would also sometimes have random artifacts typically lines near the bottom of the screen but eventually they just stopped happening and that's when things started to really start happening to the computer

After that the next main issue before the computer started not booting entirely was sometimes while only gaming at first ( tried benchmarking and nothing would happen) the computer would just completely freeze almost as if an image was burned into the monitor but the computer was off.

Then later on down the line it would do it seemingly at random, one time it happened while just opening file explorer. Then a couple weeks later the computer would no longer boot. The stuff I just talked about was over a year ago I genuenly just gave up on the computer because no matter what seemingly nothing would work. Also thought it would have been a GPU issue so I tried a very old rx550 and it wouldn't get it bios even after a reset.

I'm genuenly very lost if you have any questions I would happily answer them any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated ❤️

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

my specs are Zotac RTX 3070, AMD Ryzen 5700x, ASUS TUF b550, Corsair Vengeance 32gb RAM, Samsung 1tb NVME
When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

Asus have a number of B550 chipsetted motherboards under the TUF moniker, which one do you have? I also asked what BIOS version you're on for your motherboard.

GPU: Zotac RTX 3070
+
PSU: Corsair 750w Platinum SFX less than 2 years old
The RTX 3000 series was known to have high transient load spikes;

and users were advised to overprovision on their PSU wattages when purchasing an unit, not to mention looking into a reliably built unit. I would suggest sourcing(borrow, not buy) a higher wattage unit that's reliably built and see if the issue persists.

I was actually mistaken it's the x570 version in relation to the bios I'm not 100% sure which version but I know I updated it to the latest version around November of 2024

ASUS AM4 TUF Gaming X570-Plus (Wi-Fi) AM4 Zen 3 Ryzen 5000 & 3rd Gen Ryzen ATX Motherboard with PCIe 4.0, Dual M.2, 12+2 with Dr. MOS Power Stage

this is what it is listed as on the Amazon page and in relation to the power supply I also have a 850w gold rated cooler master SFX power supply that was initially in the system but I replaced it with the 750w PSU to see if it would fix any of the issues that the computer was having.

The 3070 typically displays power spikes in the 250w mark, so is not as relevant here. The 3090! Well, thats defo a different story.

Hey there,

A lot of what you describe points to a PSU issue. Have you another quality one you can replace to test? If not, it may be an option to go to a local repair store and get them to swap out the PSU with something decent, and determine if that the issue.

Also, some of your issues may point to a GPU problem. Make sure it's 100% seated correctly. So take it out, clean the contacts with ISO and then put back into the PC. Then test again. (When you have the GPU out, give it a good squirt of compressed air on the fans and between the shroud.

On your bios/cmos. Ver 3621 is out. You might update to that, and be sure to clear CMOS, via the shorting of two pins on the mobo, with CMOS battery out.

Are all system drivers up to date, including chipset. If not you must do this, and the updated bios before troubleshooting further.

Edit: Ooops. I see you have the CM SFX. Yes, definitely swap it out (and cables too), and test again. That will rule out a PSU issue :)

So you're on Version 5021?

Just to clarify, a PSU will degrade internally over time and by that the effective power output will reduce as well. The degradation of the unit will also vary with regards to how much you tax said unit and the temps at which it operates. High transient load spikes would contribute as a factor, while high temps will also accelerate in the PSU's demise. If the Corsair unit is ~2 years old, how old is the Coolermaster unit? Lastly, Coolermaster have been known to lie about the wattage on their PSU's...for a long while.

The timeline ist a bit confusing.
First you had issues weeks ago, yesterday it stopped booting completely unless you had just reset the BIOS via CMOS, correct?

Please name your current BIOS version, when you flashed it and wether it really is the latest.
And please edit your First Post. It still says b550!

The Screen turns black after booting? No other signs except for the white VGA LED?

Did you inspect any of the hardware closely? Can you exclude an error caused by hardware failure?

There is a Troubleshooting FAQ for booting somewhere in this page, If i remember correctly. I will add a link If i find it.
Added later : I can not find it.
