I turn power on my desktop computer. The following happens:
1. PSU turns up. Seemingly working based on sound.
2. Lights start up in the front panel of the computer.
3. No other signs of life in the computer other than the above mentioned (1. & 2.):
- Case fans are not spinning
- CPU fan is not spinning
- GPU fans are not spinning.
- No signal to monitor
- Can't go to BIOS obviously

When the computer is turned off, the GPU light is shining as usual.

So, I'm suspeting (and hoping) that the PSU has failed. It is 9 years old and has been on three gaming computers.

It is 650W. I overclocked my motherboard (to get higher mhz for memories and cpu) a week ago. Everything has been running fine, temps are lower than before overclocking because of Noctua's excellent cooler.

Computer was working perfectly the night before but didn't boot this morning as explained in the beginning of this post.

So, is it the PSU or the motherboard that is failing and how to determine that?

Thank you.

Solution
I solved it.

I opened the case and removed gpu and started to check all the cables after that.
It turned out that the biggest wire that gives power directly to the motherboard from the PSU was a bit loosely attached.
So it must've been so close to detaching all along that it just finally unplugged maybe just due to the vibration of the fans or who knows.

I'm relieved :) Remember to check ALL your cables before panicing, girls and boys!

due to the PSU beeing a 9 year old one, its problably it. is there any chance any of your friends lend you one for testing?
