I recently bought a new M2 SSD to replace my old Sata one, cloned it used it Macrium Reflect which took several hours. Now when I disconnect the old Sata drive with just the M2 SSD connected, the computer won’t boot up. Blue screen in Windows 11 appears with the following;

“Recovery - A required device isn’t connected or can’t be accessed

Error code: 0xc0000225”

Any ideas?

Yes it is,

Haven't considered imaging as I have no experience with it.

Cloning is a 1 step process: copy contents of drive A to drive B and drive B is then immediately bootable as a replica of drive A.

Imaging is a 2 step process:

1; make an image file of all partitions on the source drive. Save it to some other drive, probably an external. It will be a big file...likely 20 GB on up.

2; boot from recovery media you personally make from within Macrium and then do a formal "restore" of that image file to the new drive.

Imaging might have a higher success rate...marginally. Easily worth a try if other cloning attempts fail.
