[SOLVED] Computer not recognizing 144hz although I have 14rhz monitor

I recently got a gaming monitor for my gaming pc I built a month ago. Monitor is the Msi Optix Mag241c. It is a 144hz monitor. When I try to change the settings to 144hz, 144hz does not show up as a refresh rate. I have display port cables plugged in and all the criteria I though neccessary to use 144hz. If anyone could help me out I'd be very grateful as I'm new to pc building. Thanks

Have you installed the driver for the monitor? https://www.msi.com/Monitor/support/Optix-MAG241C#down-driver&Win10%2064

You might also need to go to advanced display properties to see all the potential resolutions and refresh rates supported.
