Computer not shutting down properly

Hello community.

For the last couple weeks I've been noticing something strange happening every time I turn my computer on and log in every day Spotify is always up automatically then today I get home turn my computer on even though I knew I shut my computer down last night I logged in and every window I had running last night was open still. So I think my computer is going into sleep mode when I hit the shut down. I could be wrong and this could be something completely different

That sounds more like Hibernation mode. If Windows, check your Power plan and function of Start button.
