Computer performance drops after a certain amount of time playing games

So I have this issue with my computer when playing my games. Where within the first 20 to 30 minutes of playing everything runs effortlessly but after that amount of play time any game I play lags horribly with Very low performance and terribe stuttery audio. I only get by this by restarting my pc and even then it still begins to stutter after the said amount of time. Does anyone know of a fix?

I'm sorta noobish when it comes to this kind of thing but I went ahead and ran the program while playing a game so what is it I should look for?

Does your CPU/GPU temperature go up to the high 80-90 degrees or more?

Could be CPU throttling from overheating.
