Computer periodically quick freezes after gaming for a while

First off my specs are
i5 4670 3.4ghz
16gb RAM
Seagate 1TB HDD
Samsung 850 pro 256gb SSD
Thermaltake 700w PSU
Msi Geforce GTX 970 4GB
Hyper 212 EVO cpu cooler

So lately I have been experiencing lag while gaming as from what i can see it happens in most of my games. So what will happen is after a while of playing (an hour or so) my games will start to freeze for around half a second but it will happen constantly. The game and audio freezes which can be really annoying with headphones on considering it happens over and over again.

The only thing that seen to solve this was shutting the game off and just giving it a break on or off, even though it will eventually come back after about an hour of playing. The one thing I happened to do while this was happening was checking the HDD for errors which there were some and were fixed and I also updated my graphics drivers which really made no difference. I have no idea what could be the problem.

That could be a sign that either you PSU (not likely), Motherboard, or CPU (Extremely unlikely unless you're putting a lot of stress on it) is failing. If you have spares, then try using them to see which is the problem. I've had this happen to me before. Both my PSU and Motherboard died.

I was thinking that too only problem is I dont have any spare parts to test, is there any other ways that would be good to test the hardware?

Ok I"ll do some searching and see what I can find and get back with I figure out.
