Computer Problem please help!

Hey, the other day I was on youtube when my laptop froze. I waited a while for it to unfreeze but it didnt so I just turned it off using the power button. When I tried to turn it back on it looked like it was coming on, but the screen remained black, and the cd player is making weird clicking noises. Thank you for reading.

If the laptop is trying to access the CD/DVD drive, it might try to boot up from there (that is, it cannot boot from the hard drive anymore).

Get into BIOS and check whether BIOS recognises your drive. Boot Windows install CD (or Linux LiveCD) and check your drive for errors. You might have to kiss the data on that drive goodbye,,,
