As the title says, my computer randomly hangs. Sometimes booting windows, sometimes at desktop, surfing the net, or even sometimes I can play a game for a couple hours. Although that doesn't happen anymore as the problem seems to be happening more and more frequent.
I've eliminated heat, ram (unless both sticks are bad), ram slot, sata cable, sata port, vid card, pcie slot, psu. I've also just reinstalled windows thinking it was a virus originally. I've had people tell my it's my hd, but all tests show that it's fine. The ram passed both the windows test and ASUS test, as well as the cpu and the vid card.
Specs:
WIndows 8.1
ASUS Sabertooth 990FX Gen 3 R 2.0
AMD FX 8350
Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1866 2 x 8 gig
Samsung 840 Pro 256 gig
XFX R9 290
Thermaltake DPS G 750W
The next step is to buy a new ssd and install windows onto that, unless someone who knows a lot more about this stuff than I do can point out something that I missed. Oh, since it hangs, there aren't any error messages.
Thanks for the help!
