Computer randomly restarts after installing new gpu

PC Build:
AMD FX:8320 (3.5ghz)
crucial ballistic ram 16gb
750gb hard drive
corsair cx600w bronze certified
GTX 970 Windforce 4gb edition

*it restarts occasionally*
*plugged in with an 8 pin from psu, but has molex to 6pin for the other connector* I'm guessing that might be the problem.

Adapters are a bad idea , get a PSU that is built to run cards without adapters.
