Computer randomly shutting off and then turning on

Happened just recently, my computer randomly shuts off and then turns on. The time frame between them is sporadic.

My PC's 5 years old, and has had 2 power suppy changes and nothing more has been touched. The current power supply has served me well for about a year or two.

It's not triggered by a particular program, nor after some download, at least not that I'm aware of.

I use Eset Internet Security as my antivirus.

I'm not particularly good at displaying specs so I'll write what I know:

Intel Celeron G550 2.6ghz
4gb ram
64bit operating system
AMD Radeon HD 5450

Well if you haven't had the problem until now, but have had power supply issues in the past, I'd try replacing that first and see if that helps. Make sure you get a name brand PSU. Like EVGA or the OEM PSU.

Use software like HWMonitor to check your CPU temperature, during idle and under load.

Post what you find here if you could.

Is there any BSOD that comes up or just the restart itself? You can always try running diagnostics such as memtest to see if anything else is amiss.

@prince_xaine I'd like to explore some other options before buying a new power supply. Don't want to spend my money on that immediately even though I suspected it first. Thanks nonetheless.

@greeko no BSOD (only that black screen saying windows didnt turn off properly or something, the 30 seconds screen), although I do recall a crash and a BSOD appearing once two weeks ago, but I just disregarded it. I'll use the memtest soon, although can you link me to a free version if there is any, please?
