Computer repeatedly turns off and back on after installing RAM

possibly or you have some bad ram sticks, try inserting just 1 stick at a time, turning on and see what happens. if it works with 1 stick, then add another , and so on until you find the bad stick.

Could also be the two sets just don't want to play together, can try increasing DRAM voltage a bit - maybe + 0.065 or so - if using 4 sticks always best to get all in a single package, that way they are guaranteed to play nice - mixing sets, even of same exact model = No guarantees

The thing is this is the third time this has happened, every time with different RAM

Try loosening the CPU cooler then snugging it back dowm, if too tight in a corner or side could be affecting the MC (memory controller), might also pull the CPU and check for debris, excess thermal compound in socket or bottom of CPU, also check for bent/broken pins

I just tried that and it did nothing, this computer is actually a fairly new (2-3 months old) build that I put together. So really there was no debris there. I just find it odd that the 2 RAM sticks im currently using work just fine, but the moment I try to add more, or in this case, completely replace them with 4 sticks of the exact same brand/type, it just won't work.

Well I was able to insert 2 of the 4 ram sticks and it works fine now, but when I try to use the 3rd (or the 3rd and 4th) it goes back to shutting off then turning on and so on. Keep in mind all 4 ram sticks are the same brand/type, all 4 are of what I posted in my OP

I realize that, mixing sets, even of the same exact model still can be and often is problematic. That's why they offer DRAM isn such a wide variety of sets, the sticks in a set are TESTED to all play nice (also why say a 4 stick set cost more than 2 two stick sets. You can pull 3 sticks right off the assembly line and it's possibly no combo of them will run together without tweaking - and might not play together period

I see, so is there no way to make these ram sticks "play together"?

Hi tradesmen i'm having the same issue after applying thermal paste to the cpu. Before that the both rams were working exactly fine. It didnt worked right after applying thermal compound. How can i solve this issue?
Thank You

The possible way to fix this issue is the way I fix it, this helps alOt. So no more chitchat, I KNOW ITS itchy to not knowing the solution of the problem. try to reduce your frequency of your DRAM, I USE MY DUAL CHANNEL RAM STICK, my ram frequency is 1600mhz x2... When i reduce it to 1033 i guess, this really helps me and still it keeps the performance of my pc just like before and no shutdown. And also when I change it to 1033 the clock timing also changes. And now when i play COD IT DOES NOT SHUTDOWN, NOT LIKE BEFORE WHEN I PLAY COD 10 TO 15 MIN ITS SHUTS DOWN. AND SOMETIMES 5 MINS TOPS. I HOPE THIS HELPS. And also my rams sticks are kingston 4gig and patreot 4gig different manufacturer but the same hz all ddr3, just reduce the hz of it. This fix my problem.
