Computer resolution not matching screen size?

So, I just got a new computer and it isn't using the entire length x width of the screen. Any ideas? I tried changing the resolution, but none of the options seem to use the entire screen still. Just an awkward inch cut off around the border. Lol

Are you using a VGA cable? Try a digital cable instead (DVI, HDMI, DP)

If your monitor only has VGA then there should be a way to adjust image size and position in the monitors settings.
