Hi, recently for some reason, my computer keeps restarting whenever I load my games (overwatch, dota, PUBG) . It does not restart when I'm using windows. Any idea what could it be? I've done my research and most people tends to think that it's the PSU problem however I believe my PSU has enough power to supply my rigg. I'm not a computer expert anyway hahaa so any help anyone T_T

Solution
Edit : Before you check out another power supply I would suggest a 450w or 500w power supply from a popular brand such as coolermaster , Evga , Corsair , Antech , NZXT , Seasonic or any other trusted brand . Your power supply is actually low compared to people who would have a similar rig like yours so better stick to a 450watt or 500watt power supply to run your rig at a stable pace .
Hmm sounds strange. If by any chance you get your hands on another psu I suggest u check to see whether the problem persists. It also be a windows issue where you can reinstall Windows and see whether it has solved the problem . I also suggest you update your motherboard bios to the latest version . But the worst case scenario is that there might be a fault in gpu as GhislainG thinks. But I hope you find the solution . Good luck to you 🙂

Solution
Hi,
I have the exact same PSU (RS-700-ACAB-B1), which is 700W, combined with a GTX980 GPU.
This combination runned fine for me more than a year, but recently I started to have the same issues: PC restarts sporadic. And the freaquency of restarts increases. Now when I start a GPU benchmark the PC restarts immidiately (so easy reproducable)
When I use my internal GPU (Intel 530) than all works fine, also the bench programs.
Therefore I still doubt if it is PSU or GPU

Your GTX 980 draws more power than the OP's GTX 550, but it shouldn't draw more than 15 amps on the +12V rail; unless it's defective, that shouldn't be an issue for a PSU rated at 54 amps on that rail.

You should test with another PSU to determine if it's the PSU or the GPU; a quality 500W PSU is plenty to stress test the GPU.
