i have a i5 4690
asus maximus vii ranger
corsair vegeance 3 sticks of 4 gb 1600 mhz
antec true power classic 750 gold psu
gtx 1050ti 4gb graphics

My pc randomly restarts it self while gaming or at idle

sometimes i can play games for 7-8 hours straight
and sometimes it repeatedly restarts on idle
like re-start in 5 minutes after boot up or restart in 20 minutues

What i have done already -
1. swapped ram ( used 1 by 1 )
same issue
used another ram stick from my friend computer still restart

2. removed gpu but re-starts again after 1-2 hours

3. temperature never goes above 60 for every components

processor stays at 55-60 C on heavy load
gpu stays at 50-55 c on heavy load

4. bought ssd to check if there's corruption in hdd ( by the way - was planning to buy ssd before restarting issue started)

5. there's no dust in any component ( i cleaned them with air blower

6. psu voltages are fine ( getting 3.3 , +5 and 12.200 ) rails

still pc is restarting without any bsod

my question is this

my pc stopped restarting for 1 month all of the sudden

but now it is happening again

+ there's a little bit buzz buzz sound in psu

not so much sound but there's exist a little bit sound in psu

but voltages of psu is fine ?

then what is the problem ?

could it be the psu ??

By the looks of it it could be the PSU that is at fault thats the main power source to your computer. I had this problem while back i could go hours and days without it restarting then it restarts changed the motherboard and psu and everything worked correctly. SO something must of happened to the PSU!

But voltages are fine :/ i dunno what's wrong

i don't think my mother board is faulty

Dump.....

Well my pc still restarts

i thought
hdmi to vga converter was doing some sort of surge with 1050ti as my monitor doesn't have hdmi port

but i have bought acer 24 inch 144hz monitor

and connected the monitor straight to computer gpu without any converter

with Dvi to dvi cable

my question is that

what can be the cause of restarts ??

without any warnings

its been 5 days since it restarted

i played pubg lite straight 7 hours
and streamed Gta 5 on YouTube with 80-90% cpu usage + 60-80% Gpu usage

my pc didn't start

I have had this problem and reducing ram frequency solved it for me. so try doing that from the bios before replacing any parts

My ram is running at XMP profile that is 1600 mhz , i haven't overclocked ram , people now days are having 3200 or 4000 mhz ram

i don't think ram frequency could be the issue as its just 1600 mhz

How are you measuring voltages, and what is the PC doing when you look?

The sensors on the motherboard aren't very accurate, and they don't capture things like ripple and transients.

If your PC shuts off instantly, i.e. no blue screens or errors beforehand, your PSU is absolutely the first thing I'd suspect. How old is it?

i have played gta 5 for more than 10 days without any restarts

while playing or at idle ( completely my pc shuts off completely and then restart it right next sec automatically )

my temperatures are fine

30' cpu
and 35 ' gpu ( winter )

in summers 50' full load cpu
55-60' full load gpu

Psu is 5-6 years old

and one more thing i would like to mention

there was a time when my pc used to do a mysterious thing

when i press start button

then it would take like 5 or 10 minutes to power up suddenly

but now it takes only 1 sec like normally others do

so my psu can be a suspect
but

i have played pubg lite for straight 7 hours today

haven't faced any restart

How is the power where you live? Is it good enough that you could go without the UPS for a little while? If the issue still happens without it, that rules out the UPS.

That PSU has a 5 year warranty, so it's out of warranty. Not a bad idea to replace it regardless.

i used to use this pc without ups from 2013

problem started in 2018

and i haven't bought new psu just bcz of it's continuous running for 15 days or even one month

the thing is

from 2013 to 2017
it's the same psu
same area where i live ( electricity stability which you are talking about )

it never occurred before 2017

in the end of 2017 it started occuring and blown my mind

i have done almost everything

end up like nothing

Well yeah, PSUs don't last forever. They'll work fine for a while and then eventually they won't, like just about anything else.

There are lots of potential causes of PC instability, but as said above if the PC is shutting off instantly without any errors that points to a PSU problem to me.

What are you using to measure CPU/GPU temp? What exactly were the "heavy loads" you were running when you measured those temperatures?

Speccy - speed fan - motherboard bios temperature sensors

all shows same temperature
seems there's nothing to do with temperatures

as i have installed artic silver 5 paste

my gpu and cpu won't go further 50' on full load

and i have tried heavy unigen valley benchmarks yesterday

on extreme settings 1080p

it was giving me 20 fps on extreme
and 60 fps on ultra settings

it was running fine

if psu is faulty

then how the psu was able to handle 100% cpu- 100% gpu

in benchmarks

What did you do for a CPU stress test? Unigine benchmarks really only stress GPU, not CPU.

Try running Prime95 (run Small FFTs test) and Furmark at the same time. Disable AVX instructions in Prime95, as described here

See if the PC restarts, and report max CPU/GPU temp while both stress tests are running. Temps reported in the BIOS are useless as those are at no-load. My preferred utility is HWiNFO.
