Computer showing graphical errors yesterday and now ceases to start outside Safe Mode

I have a prebuilt PC and have used it to play videogames for a few years now but it seems to have gone over the edge as of yesterday.

It's a "Chillblast Fusion Longbow". Here's a copy and paste of the specs from another website:

Here's a photo taken from my phone yesterday. The sides were swapping back and forth constantly, and you can see on the left side of the image there is a strange effect on the graphics making everything look spikey.

As I write this today from the computer with safe mode + networking on, smaller visual errors are still present but the side swapping has stopped. Also it's now running in 800*600 as opposed to 1920*1080.

From a bit of Googling, I tried starting in Safe Mode, running a complete virus scan (nothing) and then uninstalled my graphics card drivers. After I turned the computer off, it started normally outside safe mode however the screen errors persisted and I couldn't open any programs: I get a prompt to restart and upon restart the computer blackscreens and becomes unresponsive after showing the windows logo fly in. Turning the computer off manually from here and then restarting shows the blackscreen again, and entering safe mode just starts the cycle over!

If you'll forgive me, I'm not very tech savvy (part of the reason I bought a prebuilt PC like an idiot 😛) so if you can help you might have to use plain language.

It can be many many reasons for the problems you describe. The most probably cause is that the GPU is bad. Second to check is if there is a cooling problem, and also if there is a problem with GPU or RAM. Either one of these might cause such problems.

Hi, thanks for the reply. What steps do you think I should take?
Or in your opinion do you just think it's time for a new build? (It is a few years old after all and maybe could use a few upgrades)

It depends. I would make the easiest steps first, the tasks that makes less risk do do further damage. So obviously, If you have a psu or gpu laying around I would have swap devices and see if that would make the system more stable - and swap only one device at a time to make it easier to point out the culprit.
