I got a new 670 2 days ago, upgrading from a HD 5770. Every time I tried to open a game, or open nvidia options, or just after about 5 mins it would just shut off.
So I bought a new power supply, thinking that was the problem. I had gotten rid of my amd drivers and gotten the new nvidia ones, and still have the same problem. It's an Antec 650watt, and has the minimum requirements for the card.
Could it be that my other hardware isn't cutting it?
I have a p5qse2 mobo and a core 2 duo e8200.
Or is it a faulty card?

No, it could be likely due to heat, a computer virus, device errors, or a faulty hardware. You may want to check your device manager and see if there are any yellow exclamation marks. In regards to heat, if the CPU is over a certain threshold of heat the system will shut off automatically. This may happen with other components. So, check your temperatures.
