Hello There,
Well I have a Basic Computer for doing Normal work like Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Mail etc

The issue is that since the last week, my computer shuts down automatically after 20-25mins and the power button remains unresponsive.
I then went to the BIOS and turned on the "Fan Override" option, causing the fan next to the processor to function at full speed.
After this the computer stopped shutting down.

The temps are: (Idle) (Fan Override Off)
Core 0: 37-40°C
Core 1: 40-50°C

Should I apply thermal paste? Ive never changed it since I bought it back in 2014.

Specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz
3 GB Ram DDR3
500HDD
Intel Q45/Q43 Chip set
Windows 7 Ultimate x64bit

Any help or suggestions would be highly appreciated! 😀

Can you provide a screenshot of all the systems temperatures (not only the cpu cores)...
Usually when there is shutdown because of temperatures... next boot.. the bios should inform you that... last time your pc was shut off due to excessive temperature.
