Computer Shutting Down, Then Starting After Launch

Okay, so maybe this isn't the proper forum. I'll just ask it here anyways: does anyone know what could be the cause of a computer that shuts off after it was powered on, and then turning back on immediately about 2 seconds after? It boots up fine and functions fine (after the second boot I guess), but it is kind of alarming.

if any information helps, I'm using a desktop computer that runs Windows 7 that I built myself about 4 years ago.

Try resetting the bios to default. I had this happen on an old gigabyte motherboard and it was because I changed a setting for overclocking and it started doing that.
