Computer starts and stops after 3 seconds

Just bought and installed my new i7 4790 cpu. Problem is, it boots for 3 seconds then stops. The fans go off and everything, it just doesnt keep running. My computer was working fine 1 hour ago, before i replaced my i3. Help!

Cpu : i7 4790
Motherboard : Gigabyte b85M-hd3
Ram : gskill ddr3 2x2g ram sticks
Power supply : Thermal Take tr2 600W
Graphics card : nvidia geforce gtx 750ti

Could be several things, but the most obvious to me would be your motherboard may need to be flashed to the latest bios to support the 4790 which is a refresh processor

check that the cpu cooler on tight if not the mb and cpu will shut down to keep the rig from frying.

I just put my i3 back in and put the heatsink the same way i did on the i7 and it booted perfectly

Hey, im trying to find my motherboard bios flash but its giving me three different versions of my motherboard. The difference in the three is that it says (rev. 1.x) or (rev 2.0) or (rev. 3.0). I cant find any information about this anywhere ??

it read your hardware info and under mb it should give you the rev and bios info.

There is no 64bit compatible versinon...

In most cases where the machine starts up then stops and starts and stops. I find the problem to generally be the power supply. They do go bad once they've been stressed a while. Try replacing the power supply and I'm sure your issue will be resolved.
