Question Computer taking longer to boot, boots to BIOS twice then to windows?

Every time I turn on my PC, it will boot to BIOS, I'll click save and exit and it will restart. It will then boot to BIOS again. When I click save and exit again and hit restart, it boots to Windows, but takes longer than normal, sometimes over a minute. What's also weird, is that sometimes the boot drive with Windows on it will show up in BIOS, and sometimes it won't. Every time I try unplugging it and plugging it back in, it will start working on the next boot attempt. I even taped the cables to hopefully keep the cables inserted into the SSD. When I check the health it says GOOD for both of them. Once it gets to Windows, everything is working perfectly fine. I'm not totally sure if this started happening after I upgraded my GPU, would that cause an issue?

OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
RAM: 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR4 @ 1064MHz
MOBO: ASRock B450M Steel Legend (AM4)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
SSD: 111GB KINGSTON SA400S37120G (has windows on it)
1863GB Samsung SSD 870 QVO 2TB

1) How long has it been booting directly into BIOS when you first power up for? This isn't normal.
2) Why did you have to tape the cable to keep it inserted? Is the connector broken?
3) This shouldn't have been caused by a GPU upgrade unless something got damaged or changed during the process.
4) Are you dual-booting any other OSs or just have the one SSD with Windows and the other for storage?

1. Can't say for sure, maybe a month? I wish I could be more exact.
2. I did that in case the connector was coming undone, it hasn't seemed to have made a difference.

4. The Kingston has Windows and the Samsung is for storage yes.

1) Have you tried resetting the BIOS to it's defaults?
2) If you run msconfig (System Configuration) when in Windows and look at the Boot tab, is there only one listing or multiple?

1. Just tried that, it booted to BIOS again, then after restarting it took a while but finally booted to Windows.
2. Only lists the C: drive in msconfig boot tab

Edit: Also, just tried restarting again after setting the BIOS to defaults, and randomly it came up with "Let's finish setting up your PC" options instead of going straight to the desktop. Very confused...

For kicks and giggles (and to eliminate it causing boot issues), unplug or remove the 2nd SSD from your system, reset the BIOS again, and test.

It shouldn't be instantly booting to BIOS twice once right after each other (I'm looking at different things for this....)

Nothing in the BIOS really stuck out to me that would cause that.
This time when you reset the BIOS, trip the CMOS jumper too. It's not likely to change anything but something is making it double-back on itself and we need to figure out what.

For kicks and giggles (and to eliminate it causing boot issues), unplug or remove the 2nd SSD from your system, reset the BIOS again, and test.

This time when you reset the BIOS, trip the CMOS jumper too. It's not likely to change anything but something is making it double-back on itself and we need to figure out what.

As a last ditch effort I swapped the sata cables and now it boots straight to windows at normal speed. What's strange is I remember my first attempt at fixing this being to swap the sata cables between the two ssd's and it didn't fix it. Anyways, I appreciate your help, if this happens again I'll make a new thread

It happens especially when you are dealing with something like that and we, as humans, get frustrated at something not working. Glad to hear it's returned to normal.
