Just want to say I've used these forums many times in the past for research and general problem solving so a big thank you for your years of help but finally I've had to make an account to try and solve a specific issue I'm having. The other day I upgraded my monitor from a Dell U2414H (1920 x 1080) to a Dell U2917W (2560 x 1080) and since then my pc has been randomly switching off, sometimes it'll happen during gaming, sometimes when idle, sometimes it'll wake from sleep and then turn off. The screen goes black and all fans stop, then after a second it reboots but none of the case fans are on, it's just the CPU fan running and the screen stays black. I then turn the PSU off, hold the power button down for 30secs and then spam it a little to drain any remaining charge, make a brew, come back and turn it on like normal. This has happened 4 times in the last 48 hours and i think it's time to stop pushing my luck before something major breaks. Anyways heres a quick break down:
*I've run prime/ 3D mark for an hour each and it never switched off
*Cpu temps never over 55C and GPU never over 65C under load/gaming
*Since installing the monitor there is an error installing a driver for a "arduino leonardo" micro controller in device manger. I have installed the relevant drivers from the dell website for my model of monitor but this error still appears (i think maybe something to do with the onboard USB hub?)
*Im now using display port for the first time after using HDMI with my old monitor
*I've tried plugging the PC into the wall and not in the anti surge but same problem exists
*This is happened once in the past since i built my PC in Feb 2014
*No access to a spare PSU
So after doing some reading on similar threads I'm thinking maybe it's just complete coincidence and my PSU is starting to fail but I don't really want to fork out the cash until I get a second opinion. So what you guys think? Specs below, cheers.
