Recently started my first new gaming pc build

Build Info:
Vaporise V9 Blue Gaming PC ATX Computer Case
MSI Z87-GD45 Motherboard
I5 3.50 Processor
CX600 Power
8gb Ram
1TB WD Hard drive
Windows 7 Ultimate

Everytime it reboots for a update it turns off but doesnt turn back on again
all LED lights are on but motherboard shows no use or loading
have to hold down power button to turn off and turn it back on to complete reboot everytime
Problem existed before operating system was installed

Any tips to solve this would be appreciated

Thank you

It sounds like you have a hardware problem and it is likely the motherboard or power supply. If that's the only thing wrong, I would just set the updates to only install once per week or so.

Checked the Motherboard's on-board reset button, same result so it's the motherboard

if i needed to replace the motherboard with the exact same model would there be any conflict with the other parts?
(Probably won't replace right away)

I just had this problem with a different motherboard mfg, and flashing the BIOs to the latest version solved it. It was something about the 8X chipset having difficulties with the Haswell Refresh processors.
