Hi guys,

I just started my PC after a while & it turns on, lights turn on, but there is no display on the monitor.

I did some research on Google about this issue & did a few things.

1). I removed all the hardware, except the processor & power supply. It turned on, but same issue.
2). I also tried removing the RAM, & then by switching the RAM slot, but still no use.
3). I removed my HD 3450 512MB graphics card & plugged the monitor into the Built-In Monitor port & vice versa (in the graphics card), but no use.
4). I removed the hard disk & DVD ROM & changed their power cords, but no use.
5). I removed the computer cord & pressed & held the "ON" button for 30 to 60 seconds, but no use.

It was working fine a couple of weeks ago, but then I turned it on & it was not working anymore. By the way, when I turned it on, it acted a little weird before going dark. Actually, when I turned it on, it took a long time to get to display & then Windows was also working weirdly, then I restarted a couple of times & I thought it was my hard disk (which sometimes have power cord issue that works fine if we change it), but its not that.

Any idea how to fix this issue or what is wrong with my computer?

Thanks.

Solution
If trying the on-board display (connecting the monitor to the motherboard back panel) still not having any display could be a serious problem.

Try clearing CMOS and try the on-board VGA again (the dedicated, not installed).

If it's still not displaying, it could be that the motherboard or monitor died.
This is for all those people that turn on their computer and the display doesnt even response and your fans and cpu fan and lights are working and lights are there but no beep sound, to start of,so basicly u need to do is to take out all plugs then take out cmos battery clean it and put it out for atleast 5 mins, take out ram clean it, if your VGA is connected to graphics card unplug it and plug it into your intergrated graphic remember to take out the graphic card too if you have a hair dryer blow it onto the graphic card all around and blow it into the motherboard to clear dust but dont use hot then turn on and log in for a few mins after that switch off and unplug everything again now put back your graphics card then put your VGA cable connected to your graphic card and there u go it will prob work again

Setup only this part:
-Motherboard (removed CMOS batt)
-Processor
-PSU
-1x RAM
-Connected with display to dedicated VGA/HDMI on motherboard

Start your PC

If result still:
-no display (bios setup)
-start for a while and then going restart it self
-don't want to start at all, then

One of the part above must be broken (by usage/PSU lack of power or else)

Solutions:
-try to replace each part

My guess:
Maybe your (part of) motherboard was dead/broken, why? Most cheap common MB with bad PSU has 2-3 years life span (how old yours?) and some ASUS 5 yrs life span with better PSU (source: original ASUS website).

Based on experience. I hope it's helping...

We have same problem sir

1.) I cleaned my RAM by erasing the dirt on the gold part of RAM
2.) I removed the cpu battery(CMOS) and then wait for 10-15 min
3.) Adjusting the SATA Cables.

Then there's nothing happened.
Help!

I just had this happen to me, I recently installed a new Heatsink a few hours ago and just then I was sorting out the cables making it neat and when I powered it on I wouldn't get a display. After a while of looking online I found nothing, but then I had a sudden thought about my heatsink being loose, I tightened the screws on the back plate behind the mobo and now it works.

I hope this helps someone. 🙂

Hi everyone
I was the sames issue, right now i remove the battry on moderbord + ram for about 7 min and then put the battry on its place and ram in different slots.
It works for me now!

I have the same problem and i had tried the same steps as you to determine the problem but i'm out of luck too.
The funny thing is, however, that my computer will start working after leaving it completly disconnected for like two weeks or so. After that, my computer starts working again for like 3 or 5 days before randomly shutting off (again) and repeating the cycle.
Pretty weird.

I can get in my PC with teamviewer too - doesn't look like anything is wrong except no display.
Please tell you came right, and how?

HELLO BRUCE20 I WAS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY COMPUTER TONIGHT IT IS 7-28-2016 AND I WOULD TURN MY COMPUTER ON AND NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN SO I WAS GETTING FRUSTRATED I SAT AND CRIED CAUSE MY COMPUTER IS MY LIFE WELL IT TOOK ME 4 HOURS TO FINALLY FIX THE PROBLEM I DON'T KNOW IF YOUR COMPUTER HAS THIS BUTTON OR NOT BUT CHECK YOUR TOWER AND IF YOU HAVE A BUTTON THAT SAYS HDD RESET TURN YOUR COMPUTER ON AND HIT THE RESET BUTTON 5 TIMES THEN HOLD IT DOWN FOR 20 SECONDS AND IT SHOULD SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM IT JUST SOLVED MINE...... I HOPE THIS HELPS WITH YOUR COMPUTER OR ANYBODY ELSE THAT IS HAVING THIS PROBLEM SINCERELY A FELLOW COMPUTER OWNER

I did the steps listed here even before coming to this forum.
I have a very good idea that it might be my PSU that has a power problem.
I haven't seen anyone suspect the PSU so far... why?

I do have a custom gaming PC and I think I might have exceeded the power my PSU could offer.
I was running a 3D Mark 11 benchmark just before it happened.
The teamviewer access gave me hope that my motherboard is still fine.
What if the PSU is not giving enough power to the graphics?

I had these problems,I did all of the unhook in and putting back together.one thing I did was unhook the power from the board completely, all cords..popped out the battery for 5 mins..then I noticed the power unit 2as on 250v,switched it to 115v..put all back together and fired it up ...Wah lah..it worked!!!!!!try this...headache back guaranteed..

Same with my problem.but i try to unplug the power cpu cord.then remove the battery cmos.and i also ram..then after i put again ram and battery.and i power on the cpu.....it works and i can play again to my computer......thanks.......

Thank You so much ...its worked for me and saved lot of my time.

I have removed the battery and It worked .Thank you very much for the advice !

Hi Everyone, i Found an Effective Solution by myself.

The problem could be the RAM

[Effective Fix] Turn ON the PC. (make sure the RAM is installed). Then while the Computer is Running, remove the RAM and Put it Back. (if this still doesn't work, put into the another slot)

Hi guys.
Something similar happened to me. Turn computer on and the only thing I've seen was the welcome screen then the monitor went into standby. I tried different things but what solved my problem was the bios settings. I had to put the video settings on auto. I had as options auto...on-board...dedicated.
I chose auto and when I restarted my Pc everything was perfect. Hope this might come in handy for some of you.

Its the battery on the mobo. Looks like a large watch battery. Detach it, wait 30secs and put it back on. Also how long is your pc booting? If it lasts about 5secs and then reboots, your power to the cpu might not be completely attached. Check connections. But it is very common for mobo's to be doa
