Computer turns on sometimes

I have a problem..sometimes my computer turns on and other times it doesnt..

what can possibly be the problem and what can be done to fix it..

Faulty power button? Have you checked it the button is damaged through pushing on it too forcefully?

Am not at home..so the info i got is that my mom boot it up this morning and whilst playing games it shut down suddenly.. but at this point its not coming on..just giving a long beep sound
