computer turns on then shuts off after 30 seconds

Hi form,

I have a problem with my computer that, it shuts off after 30 seconds then restarts after a couple of seconds. it just repeats this over and over, it will not connect to the monitor if it turns on. i just put this computer together a couple of days ago and it keeps doing this i have looked up this problem but cant really find a way to fix it.

it has a GIGABYTE MOTHER BOARD. MODLE NUMBER GA-EP45-UD3P

the mother board and cpu has been on the computer case sitting in the closet for a long time and i just put the grahices card and power supply and the dvd drive and hard drive in it. dont know what to do, i tried resetting the BIOS battery on the mother board but that did not help. the cpu fan turns on with the rest of the fan like normal but it dosent do any thing, their are 6 phase lights that turn on two, 2 green 2 yellow and 2 red,

Could be temp related, or faulty PSU based on description.

The power supply is brand new. I was wondering if it was the CPU could cause the problem.

so we need to know what make and model PSU and what system your trying too run its ether overheating CPU or not enough power by the sounds of it

the power supply is a Corsair Builder Series CX 500 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS. it does not have a system on the computer. i was going to put one on after a turned it on.

so you can get into the bios alright it should have a temperature monitor somewhere in there maybe you could just sit and look at the the temps for a few minutes and see everything is ok or not

I'd unplug all internal devices such as hard drives, optical drives and all but your mouse and keyboard from your motherboard.

Then try reseating your GPU, CPU and RAM you may find that one component not being installed correctly is causing this.

i cant get in to BIOS setting's because it says no signal on the monitor.

so how is the monitor attached vga cable try a different cable

it's attached by DVI cable, i'll try an HDMI cable

i unplugged everything but the main power cable and the cpu cable from the power supply, when i took out all the ram sticks, the computer started beebing when i turned it on, then when i put the ram back in it stops. their was 9 beebs.
