Computer Upgrade Question

So, I have bought a pre-built computer that has lasted me pretty long with some games but I want to start playing games like The Division and other future games like Battlefield 5, right now I have a pretty good GPU (GTX 960) which at the moment I am fine with and I am sure I will upgrade soon most likely if I can get this question solved. I have a decent CPU (AMD 860K 3.7Ghz Quad Core) which cant even handle Borderlands 2 with 40+ FPS at some times which I have heard it is because the CPU isn't very good with handling lots of AI. I want to upgrade this CPU to probably something like an i5-4460 LGA 1150 but obviously this doesn't fit with the socket of an AMD 860K, would it be something as simple for me to just buy a LGA motherboard and switch the AMD out with the i5-4460 and every other part on the current motherboard? Or is there some other extra steps I have to take? Thanks for any answers

Solution
If you get an LGA1150 motherboard you should be able to re-use your RAM and everything else from your AMD build, so you would just be removing the old processor and motherboard from the equation.

You may also run into issues transferring your Windows key. Windows keys are often locked to your motherboard, and you'll likely have to use some fancy footwork with MS getting them to transfer it to your new board.
