Hello, I some-what recently built a new gaming PC and all of a sudden started having an issue where when I put my computer to sleep, it instantly turns back on. It does the same thing when I choose to power off the computer as well. I've tried countless methods to try and fix this problem, most notably: going into device manager and disabling every single device that is allowed to wake the computer. I've used the command prompt " powercfg –lastwake" to see what's been waking it and it turned out to be the power button. I unplugged the front panel connector to the power button from the motherboard, put the computer to sleep and it turned itself right back on, only to say the power button woke the computer like before. This should be quite literally impossible as the connector was physically removed from the motherboard. At this point I'm quite desperate to get this issue resolved, so if anyone knows of a possible solution please reply. Thank You.
If it helps my system specs are as follows:
- Asus - STRIX X370-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard
- AMD - Ryzen 7 1700 3.0GHz 8-Core Processor
- G.Skill - Trident Z RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
- EVGA - GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB FTW3 GAMING iCX Video Card
- Phanteks - Enthoo Evolv ATX Glass ATX Mid Tower Case
- EVGA - 650W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
- Windows 10 Home

Interestingly enough, the setting you recommended to turn off didn't work, however, the setting that did fix the problem was under the same Sleep tab and is called "Allow Hybrid Sleep." Unfortunately I'm still having the same problem for when I turn off the computer. If you have any further tips that may fix it, that'd be great. Thanks again!

Device manager, keyvoards, open any entries and go to the far right tab, until "allow this device to wake up the computer". Repeat with entries in mice.
Then repeat for network card and all USB root hubs.

Did that to all devices I could, no luck

Changed/disabled all wake up options in BIOS (eg. Wake on LAN)?

Didn't find any "wake on LAN" option. I've scoured my BIOS for anything related to boot, sleep, power, etc and didn't find much. Given that it's an Asus BIOS, they like to make things more difficult to find than they should be, so maybe I'm missing something.

I have an asus p6t6 ws revolution board. If your bios is anything lile mine then set it as follows:
Suspend mode - auto
Repost video on s3 resume - no
Acpi 2.0 support - enabled
Acpi apic support - enabled
Energy star 4.0c support - enabled
Restore ac on power loss - power off
Power on by rtc alarm - diabled

That is based on my BIOS setup.

In windows, my advanved power settings are set to:
Turn off hard disk - never
Allow hybrid sleep - on
Wake timers - disabled
Usb selective suspend - disabled

Check all "human interface devices" entries for the "allow this device to wake up the computer" and disable it in each case where its enabled.

All HID's were already disabled for allowing to wake the computer. Unfortunately our BIOS' do seem very different as I didn't find any settings that you listed. I could supply photos of the my BIOS if you want, however it's rather new so I don't know if you'd have any luck with it either.

Try under the APM settings - set ERP to enabled and set any remaining wake up options to disabled.

Did all that, still no luck.

Did that as well and I could swear it worked for me before but this time I tried every combination with no luck.

Then unfortunately, im at a loss. Speak to ASUS, they may be able to offer some support. Have you checked for BIOS updates?

Well thank you for all your help even though we couldn't come to a conclusion. Definitely appreciated!
