Hi,

My PC has been getting slower for a few weeks e.g. slow to start up, slow to load programs etc. It now won’t even boot. When I press the power button I get the MSI motherboard screen where I can go into those options/settings. After that it goes to a black screen with a blinking cursor in the top left. I guess it can’t locate the hard drive to boot? I have windows which is run off a SSD. After about 5 minutes or so the black screen then says:

“Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press any key”

Any help is much appreciated!

Edit: on the MSI screen I pressed F11 to enter boot device mode. I selected the SSD to boot from and I got a completely black screen with no flashing cursor!!

Please list all system specs.

How old is that SSD?
Hi,

I have windows 10. SSD is about 7 years old. I can’t remember all the specs off the top of my head, sorry. I have fairly basic pc knowledge. If someone asked me for specs I would usually look it up on the system once logged on. The MSI motherboard gives some specs like the SSD and HDD. What else would be useful and I will see if it is listed there? Thanks
