Computer wont boot 2 beeps followed by a pause then repeats

My computer wont boot. I tried everything. I dont have a sata data cable connected to the hard drive and the mobo. Is that the problem? I heard that even if it isnt connected the pc should boot. The power comes on though and the beep problem starts.

What is your MOBO? Go to your MOBO's website and find the beep codes. See what 2 beeps mean.
Well, if your drive is not attached, there's no way your system would boot into Windows.(if we assume that this is a OS drive)
