Hey!

Due to some new gaming issues (COD: Ghosts) and all around, decided to get more RAM for my PC. I googled and it's fine to have two different type of brands if they have the same frequency and voltage.

So, yesterday I went and bought a A-DATA 4GB DDR3 1333mhz for my PC. Sticked it in, computer bleeped once, asked me if I wanted to boot the PC with default values or went to setup, loaded it with default values. System Information showed me that I have 8GB of ram. I had 2x 2GB Team Elite DDR3 1333mhz and the A-DATA one. All worked fine, until I had to boot my PC. After this, it didn't load the BIOS anymore and I thought the RAM stick was faulty.

My PC works fine with the Team Elite without any errors. Today, I went back to the store and said that the RAM stick was faulty and then I got 2x 2GB A-DATA DDR3 1333mhz for my PC. Installed the sticks back at home and my PC won't load the BIOS at all with all the sticks in.

I tried with the A-DATA sticks, it passed BIOS and gave me that bleep, started loading Windows until I got a bluescreen and again, the PC only works with my Team Elite sticks. Before I try anything new or tomorrow go back to the store for the third time, it would be nice if some expert could give me some answers.

Here's my current PC setup:

ASUS M4A77TD
AMD Phenom 955 3,2 Ghz
4GB DDR3 1333 MHz
1TB HDD 7200 rpm
AMD Radeon 6870 1GB DDR5
Antec EarthWatts 500W
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

It happens sometimes different brand wont match and there will be no display. Apart from what you know there are some other things like CAS, LATENCY and TIMING have to match as well. Or you have to tweak it to match with the older ones.

To make sure you don't have faulty RAM, check with Windows Memory Diagnostics or with : http://www.memtest.org/

Both of the brands have CL9. The situation is so confusing. Where can I find the timings for the sticks?

Download CPU Z : http://www.filehippo.com/download_cpuz/

Or Speccy : http://www.filehippo.com/download_speccy/

You will get to know everything you need. Before you take any decision make sure they are not faulty. And its better to stick with one brand, and not mixing with different brand's.
